As the engine is known to be one of the most vulnerable parts in the event of a fall, ALTRIDER has developed these crash bars, which have been designed to withstand the highest loads and to offer significant protection for the engine and its vulnerable cast parts.
The ALTRIDER crash bars are the only ones on the market with a tube diameter of 31.75 mm (1.25 inch). This means that the bars are more than twice as stable as crash bars with 25.4 mm (1 inch) tubes, while weighing only 10% more. The crash bars are fixed at four secure mounting points on both sides of the skid plate using 4.76 mm (3/16 inch) thick flanges.
The rear upper bracket is secured with a large, specially machined M14 grade 8.8 bolt that replaces the engine mounting hardware. ALTRIDER offers the only specially machined through-bolt for increased strength available on the market. There are no plastic spacers or shock absorbers to break on impact. This creates an extremely strong connection between the crash bars and the skid plate while maintaining a narrow design that distributes any impacts and shocks evenly throughout the bars.
