KTM/Husqvarna have gone to great lengths to provide a side stand sensor that cannot be tampered with by not allowing any gear engagement without the side stand in the "UP" position. In spite of the undisputed safety aspect, there are a few other issues. If this sensor is to fail (or the magnet lost) while in the field, the rider will be left stranded. However, this is not a simple roadside repair, like cutting the switch off and twisting wires together or even digging up a proper resistor to temporarily alleviate the problem. High-quality GPS adapter by the US manufacturer VANASCHE MOTORSPORTS, fitting the KTM models listed below. The goal with this redesign was simple; to create a gps mount with angular adjustment that would not slip or rotate in the harshest conditions. The solution is a unique cogged tooth arm that engages a pocketed base platform for a rock solid fit that absolutely will NOT rotate in the hardest of impacts. Simple thumb knob allows loosening of the arm which can than be disengaged from the cogged pocket, rotated to a new viewing angle, and re-tightened. The teeth and cogs are aligned in a manner that allows adjustments in 10-degree increments both at the base and at the upper device holder. The lower joint is fixed with a hex head screw and ideally is used only for 'setup' while the upper joint can be changed via thumb knob.
