High-quality skid plate by ALTRIDER, specifically designed for the BMW R1300 GS / GSA models.
This tough and robust skid plate offers reliable protection against impacts of all kinds, as well as against soiling from the outside. Thanks to the new, innovative Energy Absorption System (EAS), the impact energy is distributed evenly and thus the effects of any impacts and bumps are significantly reduced. The unique shape of the skid plate tightly conforms to the underside of the bike, offering reliable protection for the highly sensitive headers and cross pipe.
Each part of the EAS is moulded to match the complex shape of the underside of the BMW R1300 engine. By this, a surface area of around 89 square centimetres is created which dissipates the energy of an impact. In addition, the EAS has a differing density to optimise the shock absorption. The differing density is comparable to a progressive suspension: the stronger the impact, the more resistance the EAS offers. All EAS parts are made of a specially developed elastomer that withstands high temperatures and harsh driving conditions.
The ALTRIDER skid plate is the only design on the market that does not rely on the engine as a mounting point, meaning that it is held in place with two custom-machined fasteners that replace the OEM center stand pins, at the same time maintaining full use of the center stand.

High-quality stainless steel crash bars by the renowned US manufacturer ALTRIDER, custom-made for the BMW R1300 GS model. Available in silver and black - please select from above. As the engine is known to be one of the most vulnerable parts in the event of a fall, ALTRIDER has developed these crash bars, which have been designed to withstand the highest loads and to offer significant protection for the engine and its vulnerable cast parts.The ALTRIDER crash bars are the only ones on the market with a tube diameter of 31.75 mm (1.25 inch). This means that the bars are more than twice as stable as crash bars with 25.4 mm (1 inch) tubes, while weighing only 10% more. The crash bars are fixed at four secure mounting points on both sides of the skid plate using 4.76 mm (3/16 inch) thick flanges.The rear upper bracket is secured with a large, specially machined M14 grade 8.8 bolt that replaces the engine mounting hardware. ALTRIDER offers the only specially machined through-bolt for increased strength available on the market. There are no plastic spacers or shock absorbers to break on impact.
