The skid plate offers reliable protection against impacts of all kinds, as well as against soiling from the outside. Thanks to the new, innovative Energy Absorption System (EAS), the impact energy is distributed evenly and thus the effects of any impacts and bumps are significantly reduced. The unique shape tightly conforms to the underside of the bike, offering reliable protection for the highly sensitive headers and cross pipe. The ALTRIDER skid plate is the only design on the market that does not rely on the engine as a mounting point, meaning that it is held in place with two custom-machined fasteners that replace the OEM center stand pins, at the same time maintaining full use of the center stand.The ALTRIDER crash bars are the only ones on the market with a tube diameter of 31.75 mm (1.25 inch). This means that the bars are more than twice as stable as crash bars with 25.4 mm (1 inch) tubes, while weighing only 10% more. The crash bars are fixed at four secure mounting points on both sides of the skid plate using 4.76 mm (3/16 inch) thick flanges. The rear upper bracket is secured with a large, specially machined M14 grade 8.8 bolt that replaces the engine mounting hardware. ALTRIDER offers the only specially machined through-bolt for increased strength available on the market. There are no plastic spacers or shock absorbers to break on impact. High-quality foot brake system by ALTRIDER, offering substantially more braking safety and comfort during off-road riding. Custom-made for the BMW R 1300 GS model. Most OEM brake pedals have a single-positioned small footprint, yet most ADV riders substantially change foot positioning as they switch between standing and sitting. If the riders' feet are not already situated correctly on the rear brake pedal, they are potentially doubling reaction time and distance to make what could be a critical stop. This is why all motorcycle racers have 1 or 2 fingers on the front brake lever in photographs. ALTRIDER has taken away this additional hazard with the patent pending DualControl Brake System. There are two parts to the ALTRIDER DualControl Brake System that enhance control and reaction time; a riser and an enlarger plate. Riser When in a seated position, a rider’s bent knee naturally puts the angle of the foot pointed down 90 degrees from the lower leg, while a standing position creates a straighter leg and raises the angle of the foot to a more horizontal position. Using the OEM brake pedal, there is no way to keep the correct brake control position when both sitting and standing. With the ALTRIDER enlarger and riser combined, there are now two levels in which to engage the rear brake, putting the foot in an optimal position regardless of the riding position. As every rider is different, there are two riser heights available depending on the riding style. For those needing additional customization, risers can also be swapped out. Enlarger The ever-changing terrain of off-road riding means the entire body is constantly moving and adjusting. The billet aluminum enlarger plate gives the foot a greater surface area to work with, affording the rider more control of the rear brake. High-quality, innovative modular pannier system by KRIEGA, specifically designed to fit all BMW GS models with a rear rack. The OS-BASE is an 'over the seat harness' which allows KRIEGA'S OS-6, OS-12 or OS-18 Adventure Packs (available separately, see below) to be mounted as panniers. The modular design allows to modify the luggage set-up to suit any ride - from a day’s single track to longer adventure trips. By adding an additional OS-Adventure Pack as a top bag, it is possible to extend the carrying capacity to up to 54 litres.
